English tourist returns to Egypt in appreciation of a coach driver

An Egyptian stagecoach driver impressed an English tourist who was visiting the Temple of Edfu in Aswan as part of a tourist group.

Egyptian media talked about the story of tourist Sandra Michele with the stagecoach driver Abu Hajar, where she said that she boarded a stagecoach during her tourist tour, and upon her return to her cruise ship, she discovered that valuable belongings were missing, so the stagecoach driver found them and returned them to her, refusing to receive any reward for his honesty, so the tourist decided to return again to Egypt to visit him and thank him.

The tour guide Walid Adnan, who was with the tourist group during the visit to Aswan, narrated the story of the stagecoach owner who found the tourist’s bag, which contained a sum of money amounting to $2,500, a newly made iPhone phone estimated at about 80 thousand pounds, and a gold bracelet of value that its owner confirmed. It is a priceless gift from her father before his death.

He said: “When the tourist finished visiting the Edfu Temple, she was surprised by the loss of her bag. Contact was made with the stagecoach driver, Abu Al-Hassan Abdel-Dhaher, and his fame is Rais Abu Hajar, as he was the one who had booked the stagecoach. He searched for the bag and found it in its place inside the stagecoach.

President Abu Hajar informed us that he had found the bag and we found everything mentioned in it.”

The guide continued: “Everyone was surprised that Abu Hajar refused to receive a reward of $1,000 despite the current circumstances that everyone is suffering from due to high prices. The tourist was very happy with the bracelet, more than the phone and the money because it was the last gift from her father. She promised to present that honest position to all the English newspapers.” "As a businesswoman, she promised another visit specifically to meet Abu Hajar. Indeed, she attended and promised in the future to establish a tourism project managed by President Abu Hajar."
