A crocodile attacked an elderly woman in Indonesia, while she was driving her boat in a river to collect some plants, and she managed to fight it off.
The 59-year-old woman from a village in Aceh province was collecting water hyacinth and snails to feed ducks when the crocodile grabbed her hand, pulled her out of the boat and began shaking her from side to side in an attempt to tear her hand off. With all her strength, the woman managed to hit the crocodile several times in the face with her hand. Then a boat passed by them, which scared the crocodile, which retreated.
The woman was pulled out of the water and taken to shore.
The Daily Mirror newspaper said that she was taken to hospital by motorbike. The incident, which nearly killed the elderly woman, ended with 15 stitches on her body.
In another incident, a woman in Colombia was injured by a capybara attack while she was swimming in a lake. When the woman noticed the rodent, she began to retreat after entering the water, but the capybara attacked her, jumped on her back and tried to knock her down. A man arrived at the scene after hearing her screams and asking for help, and was able to push the animal away using a stick.
